Luftbild Nordseeheilbad Nordstrand, Uthlandeweg, Hoernstrasse | Nordsee, Nordstrand, Uthlandeweg, Hoernstrasse - Die Verbindung zum Festland wurde 1906/07 durch einen niedrigen Damm hergestellt, der zunächst nur für den Küstenschutz diente und nicht befahrbar war. 1933/35 wurde der Damm hochwasserfrei ausgebaut und zu einer 4,3 Kilometer langen Straße, die seitdem die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung der Halbinsel nachhaltig beeinflusst.
